Our most frequent questions and answers relating to Tryouts.
Practices depend on the team and are usually two nights a week, usually at the Sullivan or Little Valley Soccer fields, but some teams practice at other locations.
There are two seasons that you will play in – the Fall season and the Spring season. Each season will have somewhere between 8 and 15 games, usually 1 night a week and most games will be played out at the new Shivwits fields past Ivins.
Prices for club soccer will vary between each team. You will have some hard costs (no matter what team you play for) like club fees, kit/uniform prices, and UYSA participation fees. Then depending on what your team decides to do, you may attend tournaments throughout the year. Those will include their own fees, and then possibly travel expenses.
Tryouts will be at the Sullivan Soccer Complex.
UYSA has agreed to adopt the seasonal year age group formation cycle for its players. “The cycle, which will run from September 1 to August 31, represents the opportunity for more players to play club-based soccer with their classmates”.
What does this mean? Basically teams will be formed by “school year” (Sept. 1 – Aug. 31) style age groups as opposed to birth year (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31).
This does not take affect until the 2026-2027 seasonal year.
US Youth Soccer, US Club Soccer, and AYSO Returning to Seasonal-Year Age Group Formation in 2026
Due to the UYSA recruiting guidelines; A Coach, parent, player or any person currently belonging to a club may not initiate contact with a player from another club with the intent of recruiting or promoting tryouts, until the “recruiting window” opens on the third Sunday in May.
A club may offer online registration prior to the open “recruiting window” but may not initiate any contact (written or verbal) until that date.
That is perfectly OK, however the more time in front of the coaching staff the better.
All clubs are required by UYSA to hold tryouts at the same time during the year.
If your allotted time frame is the same day and time as another club you are interested in – that is purely coincidental.
